The lazy, long days of summer are here. Remember when you were a kid and you would begin planning all the fun activities you were going to do during the summer season even before it had actually arrived? Now, as an adult, you have even more options. Following are some ideas for your summer bucket list.
Be a Tourist in Your Own City
If you were a tourist in your own city, where would you want to go? What would you eat? What would you want to see? Sometimes the best and most fun adventures are right in your own backyard. Also, there are probably many things to do and see that you just haven’t gotten to yet, particularly if you live in a larger city. Check out new restaurants that may have opened or visit a niche, smaller museum this season. Use the longer days of the summer to get outside of your normal routine.
Make Homemade Ice Cream
Beat the heat of the summer with a nice homemade ice cream. There’s nothing better than a delicious ice cream on a hot day and the homemade version is no doubt the best option. There are many recipes out there for making a tasty ice cream at home. Some recipes require an ice cream maker but there are many that don’t. You can browse the web to find easy recipes. Once you have made it, invite some friends over to do a taste test.
Picnic with Friends
Food somehow tastes better when you eat it with friends in an outdoor environment. So, take advantage of the summer days this season by treating your friends to a picnic. Whip up delicious summer treats like ice cream, popsicles, potato salad, lobster rolls, etc. to make the picnic with friends extra special. Don’t forget to pack up football or frisbee to have quality time with friends.
Go on a Nature Walk
A nature walk is one of the best ways to get the necessary dose of nature to rejuvenate your spirit. It can also increase your ability to concentrate and focus. Choose a cool morning to take a nature walk in your local park or around your neighborhood. If you want to make it more fun, go for a scavenger hunt and find the coolest things you can. Then, if you wish, you can make a scrapbook out of them when you return home.
Swim in the Ocean
Swimming in the ocean is a fun way to get some exercise during summers. Swimming at sunset or sunrise is a special experience. Head to the nearest beach and tread water for a bit if you can and watch the sun glinting off the water ripples. Feel the ocean gliding through your toes and fingers as you swim. Whatever time you plan to swim, it is highly recommended that you be aware of the tides and go on a beach with lifeguards.
Summertime is here. The birds are chirping, the sun is shining, and the grass is green. Take advantage of the long days to soak up those rays every chance you get. Use the above-listed summer bucket list ideas to make the most of this season.
